When the court grants a divorce, property will be divided equitably (not always equally) between the two spouses. This is decided under the Equitable Distribution Law. During the divorce both spouses have to tell the court about their income, property, and any debts they owe.

It's considered a conflict of interest for an attorney with a large law firm to represent a client when another firm member represents the opposing party. Your attorney is not allowed to enter any business relationship in which he or she would receive confidential information about the opposing party.

Of course, the first profession I looked at was lawyers. Unsurprisingly, it turns out that most lawyers marry other lawyers. But male lawyers also marry schoolteachers, secretaries, and miscellaneous managers. And lesbian lawyers marry people in other computer occupations.
